Vision

The Anabaptist Peace Center - Washington, DC embraces Christ's call to peace, bearing witness in a world desperately in need of finding new paths from violence to peace with justice.

In Jesus Christ, God reconciles people to God, one another, and creation, restoring right relations in love and justice.

God likewise calls Christians to be reconcilers and peacemakers.  This call involves putting into practice what Jesus teaches and models about nonviolence, love for enemies, and overcoming evil with good.  It requires active participation in God's nonviolent work of peace and justice among individuals, families, communities, and nations.

THE ANABAPTIST PEACE CENTER - WASHINGTON, DC SEEKS TO BE . . .

  • Both prophetic and pastoral;
  • Reflective yet action oriented;
  • Relevant to the churches, society, academia, and government;
  • Nationally focused yet with both international and local dimensions;
  • A nurturing and empowering place for its staff and volunteers;
  • An organization that models reconciliation, peace, and justice.
