To engage in education, action, and
ecumenical cooperation in order to encourage and assist both church and
society to put into practice Jesus' call to peace and justice.
WE WILL . . .
Encourage Mennonite and Brethren in
Christ churches to strengthen and demonstrate their commitment to an
Anabaptist witness of peace and justice;
Assist members, pastors, scholars, and activists of other denominations in strengthening their witness to peace and justice;
Help bring understanding, healing, and reconciliation where conflict and division exist in church and society;
Facilitate and disseminate theological
reflection on public policy issues and the role of government in
contributing to a just society;
Coordinate nonviolent responses to injustice and aggression and advocate nonviolent strategies for social change;
Offer to churches and to the public
resources that relate to peace and justice - speakers, audiovisuals,
literature, and reference materials;
Link with institutions and efforts - both within and beyond the Anabaptist community - in common pursuit of peace and justice.
